Description: In memory of grandfather Antonio, the Nonino family is celebrating a return to its roots with Amaro Nonino Quintessentia, creating for the first time in 2021 a Riserva, which undergoes more than 24 months of natural aging in oak barrels and small casks. Antonio Nonino, the third generation of the distilling family, stored Amaro Carnia in small wooden barrels; steel at the time was prohibitively expensive. Through contact with oak, the liqueur was enriched with new notes and aromas. Although there are no precise rules for the maturation of liqueurs, in line with the Nonino philosophy, maturation takes place in the dedicated, sealed cellar and under the constant control of the customs and monopoly office. The result is extraordinary: Quintessentia becomes softer, the citrus notes take a back seat and it acquires elegance, which is expressed in numerous subtle and warm notes. At first there are autumnal scents of underbrush and moss that give way to hints of raisins and raisins. There is no lack of balsamic hints, scent of flamed orange and caramelized vanilla, and great persistence and intensity.
Pairing: Served at room temperature to complement a meal, sipped with friends, accompanied with cigars; unforgettable when paired with bitter chocolate, cream-based desserts such as Tiramisu and cheeses with personality.
