THE MANUFACTURER: Emile Giffard was a pharmacist from Angers, living in the 1800s in the Loire Valley, but not just another pharmacist; an inventor, a curious man and a great gourmet, he carried out research into the digestive and refreshing properties of mint. He thus developed a white mint liquor, pure, transparent, refined.... And he put it to the test with customers at the Grand Hotel near his home to relieve their heat. Success was immediate so Emile then turned his pharmacy into a distillery, calling his liqueur Menthe-Pastille, in reference to the mints that were very fashionable at the time. Today all liqueurs produced are the result of careful dosing, blending, filtration and control of all quality requirements. Each realization is tasted before being bottled.
