THE MANUFACTURER: The Izzi liqueur factory was born back in 1903 when a young confectioner from Fondi, passionate about chemistry and herbalism, extracted from herbs, seeds and roots an infusion with extraordinary tonic and digestive properties. His name was Vincenzo Izzi, and for four generations his family has guarded the secret of Amaro Erbes. Erbes cannot be classified as an ordinary bitter; its genuineness is guaranteed by the quality of the extracts, which, unlike those more commonly used, ensure the much sought-after digestive effectiveness. Botanicals include cinchona, rhubarb, gentian and chamomile.
