Di Majo Norante produces wine from its own grapes since 1800, as evidenced by the ancient cellars under the Square and in the old family building in Campomarino. The dedication to the cultivation of the Vine was inherited first by Luigi and then by Alessio Di Majo and is practiced today along with the passion for research and experimentation. Di Majo Norante produces its own wines exclusively from 100 hectares of the ancient fief of the Marquises Norante of Santa Cristina. The modern Cellar will soon be flanked by a barrel made in a stone barn of the ‘600. This is because the “oenological philosophy” of Di Majo Norante respects the traditional approach to the cultivation of the vine and the production of wine, in an attempt to preserve all the characteristics of the Mediterranean grapes. Di Majo Norante pays careful attention to the selection, harvesting of grapes and winemaking techniques, in order to constantly improve the quality and health of the wine. The vine is treated exclusively with fertilizers of organic and mineral origin and is defended with the constant extirpation of weeds and with the biological fight against pests such as the moth, while the remains of the pruning are removed to avoid outbreaks of infections. The practice of ancient techniques and the adoption of modern technologies thus allow to produce a wine for many aspects "organic", which deserves to be fully enjoyed in the deep expression of its typicality.
