Winemakers for four generations, it was Carlo Vietti who founded the winery at the end of the nineteenth century, in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of the Langhe. At the beginning of the '900, his son Mario began to sell the Barolos they had begun to produce, focusing the family business exclusively on the wine business. Starting from the '60s, is the daughter Lucia, with her husband winemaker Alfredo Currado, to carry forward the work of the winery Vietti, focusing more and more on the production of high-quality, and positioning the company among the best of the Langhe, beginning since, then, to export its products to the major foreign markets such as the German, swiss, and american. Alfredo, however, was the first to vinify the individual vineyards separately, in an era like that of the 60s when Barolo was not conceived as a wine from individual "cru", but was born from the vinification of all the vineyards together. The other great pioneering vision of Alfredo was to enhance arneis, an indigenous grape long forgotten by the producers of the area: the winery began to vinify it in purity, and so did other producers later, leading today arneis to be the most important white berry grape in the territory. In 1970 Luciana and Alfredo, great art lovers, thanks to the friendship with some artists, begin to change the face of their labels. Since 2000, with the retirement of their parents, Mario Cordero and Luca Currado acquire the entire company property, continuing the production activity always in the greatest respect of tradition but with an open and evolutionary mentality, in the search for the highest quality and pleasure of wine
