Description: Talisker, one of Diageo's 6 Classic Malts of Scotland, is like the other malts, releasing a limited edition The Distillers of its single malt whisky. This 2022 edition is about 10 years old and has been finished in American Amoroso oak barrels.
Distillers Editions are Single Malts that undergo a special aging process. Each, in fact, after spending the normal aging period in American oak barrels, undergoes a second (or "double") maturation in a barrel that has previously contained a fortified wine. The duration of this second maturation depends on when the distillate's aroma is fully developed; generally between 6 and 12 mesi
TASTING NOTES.
Color: Light rich amber
Nose: Pungent nose with clean fresh sea air of ozone and seaweed supported by richer smoky notes, sweet malt and raisin sweetness from the cask; gloriously well combined and harmonious.
Palate: Taste at once smoky and savory but also sweet with rich fruit, quickly becoming more peppery as woody spice takes on clear interest. Luxurious suggestions of roasted figs and sweet dates are firmly supported by peat smoke and sea salt, and there is a softness in the "catching" of the chili as it descends.
