Description: Cragganmore Distillers Edition is a special, limited release from the distillery for its enthusiasts. Featuring a slightly peaty malt, long fermentation and unusually shaped stills and worm tubes, all to produce a rich, fleshy malt with plenty of citrus notes. Distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 this single malt was aged in ex-bourbon barrels before undergoing a finish in barrels that previously held port wine.
Distillers Editions are Single Malts that undergo a special aging process. Each, in fact, after spending the normal aging period in American oak barrels, undergoes a second (or "double") maturation in a barrel that has previously contained fortified wine. The duration of this second maturation depends on when the distillate's aroma is fully developed; generally between 6 and 12 months
