TASTING NOTES.
Color: Amber.
Nose: Caramel and vanilla open the nose, followed by a note of soft candy, toffee for short. It evolves with a note of maple wood smoke and caramelized sugar.
PALATE: Matching the palate, it is soft, smooth and vaguely savory, with nice persistence where the caramel and spice notes return.
DESCRIPTION: The mash, that is, the mixture of grains from which J.D. is made. ,contains mostly corn, precisely 80 percent of the total; then follows rye to the extent of 12 percent and barley malt making up the remaining 8 percent. As a further detail, the grains come from the U.S. heartland: corn from Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky; rye from Minnessota and Dakota; and finally barley malt from Wisconsin. Water, on the other hand, comes from springs located near the distillery.
