Vinification: The aglianico vine seems to have been introduced by the Greeks around the 6th-7th centuries BC, during their colonization of the Tyrrhenian coast. Today, Antonio Caggiano makes this splendid Taurasi DOCG "Vigna Macchia dei Goti" from the aglianico grapes. It is left to mature in French oak barrels for 12 to 18 months. Aristocratic and complex, rich in fruity scents and tertiary aromas, it is the ideal wine to be paired with savory, aromatic and structured dishes
TASTING NOTES.
Color: Intense ruby red
Nose: It has a penetrating and deep olfactory bouquet, consisting of dark fruit tones, plums and cherries, to which are added nuances of licorice and wood, mineral and toasted hints
Taste: The taste confirms complexity, with robust but well-managed tannins that will age it wonderfully for the next ten years at a minimum
PAIRINGS: It is best paired with second courses on a land-based menu of red meats, game or venison. Excellent with roast mutton
FRUITY: Serve at 16°C
